"We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, "O me! O life!... of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless... of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?" Answer. That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play *goes on* and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?"
"I Wonder How"
(an extension to Vanillia Twilight by Owl City)
We could lay forever and kiss all my life I wont forget this
These are the best years of my life
in my mind forever now
we lay and I wonder how, I wonder how
So many times I look at your face
You took my heart with your grace
The life we have together
Sweetie it will last forever
We met way back in first grade
Now I’m with you and really have it made
I started to see you this way
at my holiday party
Ever since then I love you to this day
You brother at first said no,
I needed your terrific glow
Now he likes me too
One big family, me him and you
We lay I wonder how, I wonder how
I came to have you, and be in your heart
I love you so much
I always have, from the very start
Get up! Woke up late
Its Sunday morning
Family already ate
Woke up late
Maybe I’ll go out and skate
Or do my homework, but I’ll end up snoring, my oh my! It’s so damn boring
Woke up late,
It’s Sunday morning.
You, I hate.
All day
Every day
You step on me.
Well I say,
Enough is enough,
STOP
Do not blame it on the foot
I am not designed
In any way shape or form
To rid you of that soot
You and your colt
All try to hold me at fault
For the wearing of your so(u)l/e
Blame not my terrain
Nor tile
Nor track
But your trudging
Your training
Your trekking, at that
I am not your biggest problem
So I be-rid myself now
Of all the blame you’ve put towards me
As being a source of all your pain
Below Nover
Sandy grit blows about
Tan buildings barely standing
I just left Nover
headed south,
This place is just Below Nover
Creaking doors and dirty floors
leaky piples, no electric lights
How can i get home!?
Rusty cars and beat down bars,
little shacks, oh this town lacks
ARGH! I need a phone
have my pink phone, a dial tone!
"The place I'm in? Below Nover, just South-east south of Norther Dover"
"Pick you up? Maybe later", said the big mean operator.
For a while guess I'm stranded,
oh look out! Here comes a bandit!
My Best Friend Kristen
She's always been there for me
Through up's an down
Her problems and mine
I'd feel excluded
She took me in
As a mother bird does to it's young
She talked to me
I talked to her
She treated me like a person
The best friendship I've ever had
Formed in the shortest time it ever has
She's there for me
She's there for me in times of need
I'd like to say i do the same
She's the best friend I've ever had
I'll always remember her name
Kristen Lilly, there for good
Help for bad
