The Office Door's Denial to the Desk (Triolet)
Why should I listen to you?
You do nothing, you can’t even move
I’m more important, it’s true
Why should I listen to you?
I open and close to let people through,
While you look like you’re in a snooze
Why should I listen to you?
You do nothing, you can’t even move

Morning (Sonnet)
The alarm clock announces a new day
Dragging you out of your sweet, peaceful dreams
With one angry slap, the loud noise goes away
You go back to sleep and dream about ice cream
Half hour later your nightmare comes true
You need to be as quick as a wink
To work some magic so you look renewed
Your body demands coffee as your drink
One sip washes away your lazines
Your stomach screams for food but there’s no time
You wash and dress in complete craziness
Two minutes left and you begin your climb
As you wait you realize you’re a big fool
It's Saturday and you have no school
Coming Home (Two Voice Poem) I’m finally home. She’s home. It’s so nice to finally come home to my puppy Ginger. There goes my plan to chew up her shoes in the closet. Why couldn’t she have stayed at work a little longer? I worked twelve hours today. I had to go to puppy behavior training for an hour. I’m so tired. My back hurts from sitting in a chair all day. My muscles are stiff from sleeping all day. I need a massage. Look how cute Ginger looks on her dog bed. She’s wagging her tail and barking. She looks so happy to see me. Jeez! I’m getting tired of wagging my tail. Will she just come over here and say hello to me already. “Hey Ginger. I hope you learned something in training today and stayed out of trouble.” Uh-oh. I better do something quick to distract her. “Be quiet Ginger. If you stop barking and jumping on my leg I’ll let you out.” Yes! The barking and jumping worked. I think she’s going to get my leash. I’m going to the kitchen first. She’s going to the kitchen first. OH MY GOD! My kitchen is a mess. There’s food all over the ground and the fridge is completely empty. How could a dog do this much damage? What can I say? I’m a growing puppy. I’m always hungry. But maybe the fridge wasn’t that great an idea. She doesn’t look too happy. She’s in trouble.
I’m in trouble.
I turn the corner and your right there
Holding hands with some girl who isn’t me
I can’t be upset, this sight isn’t rare
But it always breaks my heart when I see
Deep breath and I’m ready to face you
You turn, flash me a smile, and I melt
Why are you with her, she doesn’t get you
Be with me, my feelings are heartfelt
But you have no idea how I feel
Because I’ve always been your best friend
Been there for you when times were surreal
Laughing, talking, hanging out on weekends
It’s easy to see why you’re with her
She’s the most popular girl in school
I’m just a plain preacher’s daughter
But I make you smile and laugh like a fool
You leave her and walk over to me
My heart beats faster, I can barely breathe
Asking if I need a ride home at three
This is my chance to make you believe
In the car, we sing with the radio
You tell me that she’s jealous of me
You laugh, says she’s crazy, I feel so low
But you say you want to end it, be free
Now’s my chance to share how I really feel
But we’re at my house and you say goodbye
But I have a plan to make my dream real
Tonight’s dance ill dress up to catch your eye
The words never quite equal the experience behind them."

Coming Home (Two Voice Poem)
I’m finally home.
She’s home.
It’s so nice to finally come home to my puppy Ginger.
There goes my plan to chew up her shoes in the closet. Why couldn’t she have stayed at work a little longer?
I worked twelve hours today.
I had to go to puppy behavior training for an hour.

My back hurts from sitting in a chair all day.
My muscles are stiff from sleeping all day.
